What we aim to solve
Our goal is to break the cycle of poverty in the slums by educating the children in the communities we work. We have developed a system that addresses some of the crucial problems that hinder in achieving the goal, such as strong partnership of the community, and use a semi-entrepreneurship model that provides results.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Preschool and Coaching of Children in the Slums
So far we have provided access to more than 10,000 children in the slums of Bangladesh, age 4-12, into our system for preschool and after-school coaching program. This year we have 45 one-room schools in five slums. Each school caters to 210 students at the cost of $1/month/child.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our goal is to bring 50,000 small children from the streets into the classrooms in the next three years in the slums of Bangladesh.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We have developed the infrastructure of local NGOs who have implemented our low-cost model of one-room schools in the slums of Bangladesh. Each school caters to 210 students and is established within a slum community of 300 to 500 families. The little children, along with their parents, simply walk to the schools within 10 minutes. Currently, we have 45 such schools. Each school operates at a low cost of US$2,500 per year. We would need to establish 20 schools per year for the next three years to achieve our goal of sending 50,000 cumulative number of children to schools. This is quite achievable, based on our experience so far.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
DoPeace has already developed the infrastructure to achieve our goal. We have been working with five local NGOs in Bangladesh who have significant experience in implementation of services in the slum areas. We have one and a half years of experience with these NGOs.
We have established daily reporting of student attendance every day which is emailed to us by each NGO. The collection of data and monitoring the progress of each child with the use of Salesforce.com CRM is a vital part of our endeavor. We leverage the technology such as Google Docs for DoPeace, and Facebook for each NGO to communicate with the NGOs and the community in Bangladesh and in the USA.
We use Constant Contact to disseminate the information and Flipcause for approaching individuals and corporations for donations. Along with our Board of Directors and volunteers, we are a strong organization to accomplish the goals.
Our infrastructure and management have already achieved enrollment of more than 10,000 children into our school system. We already have done the feasibility and have planned for another 10 schools starting July 1, 2016, that will add 2100 children to our school system.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have proven our low-cost model (US$1/child/month) brings children from the slums to the basic preschool classroom, providing access to the masses. Our model of after-school coaching to children grades 2 to 5 has proven to reduce the dropout rate from the school and increase learning. Our model has successfully worked for the poorest of the poor in the slums, providing school access to more than 10,000 students.
However, the number of the slum children are much larger, in Bangladesh and around the world. We believe a significant impact can be reached in Bangladesh by bringing 50,000 little children to schools; this we want to achieve in three years.
