Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Practical support for older neighbors provided by volunteers
Volunteers provide a variety of services to our members, including: transportation to appointments and shopping; minor home maintenance/repairs; tech support; friendly visits; home organization/decluttering; errand running; short term pet care, etc.
Social, cultural and educational programming
At Home in Alexandria has an active social calendar for our members to keep them engaged with other members and combat the epidemic of senior adult loneliness. Opportunities to dine out, take in a movie, attend a current events roundtable, hear from special speakers, and participate in specific interest groups (walking, biking, bridge, etc), are provided each month.
Referrals to approved vendors and professional service providers
AHA maintains a list of recommended vendors and professional service providers and provides that information to members upon request.
