22q Texas Annual Family Camp & Retreat

22q Texas hosts an annual family Camp/Retreat for families affected by 22q11.2 chromosome disorders. The first retreat was in 2009.
The retreat brings families and professionals together in a fun and nurturing environment to learn more about the disorders and treatments. The weekend includes informative sessions plus opportunities to meet with and share information and experiences with other families.
Kids participate in fun, challenging activities, building independence & confidence by doing things they thought were impossible. Parents are empowered, educated and connected with a strong support system. Families bond together and leave with renewed strength and hope.
It is a fun-filled camp experience for all ages! Activities include archery, basketball, climbing wall, games, rope courses , animal education, zip lines, campfire and more!
All meals and activities are included, with families attending at little or no cost.

22q Texas board members facilitate a monthly online support and chat group open to all members of the 22q community. We meet on the 22nd of each month at 8:30pm CST, and topics often depend on what the community suggests. Sometimes we just visit and enjoy socializing, and other times we address challenges and issues that families are experiencing.
