Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Community and Housing Initiatives Corporation (CHIC) implements programs that benefit families, and individuals( adults, children and youth in the West Atlanta Community.
Community Building Workshops serve as educational forums for engagement in and promotion of community and economic development for youth and adults. Some of the workshops include Asset Based Community Development(ABCD), Community & Civic Participation, Community Organizing and Project Planning, and Organizational Development for Capacity Building.
Part of the CHIC Youth Programs Initiative is the Youth Entrepreneur Development Course offered for young adults grades 9-12. Through the NxLevel Entreprenuerial Training, young adults learn comprehensive business development skills and have the opportunity to start their own business by the end of the course.
Additional program offered through CHIC include: Faith in the City - an open forum discussion for faith leaders and their members to communicate ways the church can work closely with non-profit and other community based organizations to best meet the needs of the surrounding community.
CHIC Community Assessment & Referral Services provides a comprehensive clearinghouse for housing and supportive services that focus on complete client follow through by documenting evidence of quality assistance to individuals who participate in a collaborative group focused on the continuum of care necessary for long term self-sufficiency.
CHIC Community Food Program supports a community wide food project that provides access to quality and affordable foods that promote good health for individuals and families. This program was created by leadership and residents of NPU-T.
CHIC's Housing & Supportive Services Program seeks to provide permanent housing and supportive services to homeless families and women transitioning out of prison. The ultimate goal is to equip families and individuals with the tools needed to sustain long term self-sufficiency and help each family unit build financial wealth and gain knowledge that supports positive progression.
