Mission

The vision of 1eighty Ministries is to help people locally who are "down and out" make a 180 degree turn in their lives and get back on track.  We recognize that through the recent global financial crisis, many individuals and families have been severely hurt both personally and financially.  Many people cannot even provide their most basic needs, including food, clothing, and shelter.  1eighty Ministries is a beacon of hope for people helping them with these basic needs, as well as their spiritual well being.  We are here to throw life lines, and we ask nothing in return.  We plant the seed, water it, and watch God make it grow!
"If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth."  1 John 3:17-18

1eighty Vision

1eighty Ministries' Building will house the 1eighty Cafe  This will be a place where folks who need a meal can come and get a hot meal at no cost to them.  Folks will have to register with 1eighty to participate and receive the meals.  There will be no limit on who or how many meals a person can receive.  Each day a meal will be provided by a different church, civic group, or other type of philanthropic-minded grouand will have full control over their meal, within a few basic 1eighty Cafe guidelines.  Our vision is simply to facilitate a central location for ministry to take place, bring the churches and groups together to do the work, and allow them to perform their specific ministries goals.  The meal is the means, the soul is the end.
1eighty Ministries' Building will house the 1eighty Outfitters free clothing store and Clothing Consultants.  The idea of 1eighty Outfitters is to provide clothing for people in a specific needs based way.  Most free clothing stores have stacks and stacks of clothing, but no real organization or direction.  Our goal is to have our clothing consultants help people put together outfits for specific purposes such as: job interviews, going to church, attending a wedding, attending a funeral, going to school, hanging out at the football game, going on a date, etc.  Our goal is to teach people how to properly put together outfits, so that they are socially more confident in outside settings.  We want to empower people!
1eighty Ministries' Building will house the 1eighty Life Coaching and Educational Wing.  We really want to encourage folks and remind them that they are valuable, loved by their Heavenly Father, and have a purpose.  We will encourage creativity, as we were created by a creator to create!  We want to show people that they too can contribute, and their thoughts, ideas, and opinions are valuable.  We will have a discipleship sweet, coffee shop (free, of course), library with specifically chosen literature, multiple computer stations (hopefully with both PC and Mac), study area, hang out area, among other things.  The goal is to have a fun, comfortable place where folks can come and get educated, revived, encouraged, and feel welcome.  We want it to be a desirable place to come to!
1eighty Ministries is collaborating already with Avid Ministries, Warrior Backpack, and Heritage Baptist Church in Lebanon, Ohio, to open a food pantry and have a resource warehouse.  One of the aspects of Avid Ministries is collection of certain items, including food, clothing, etc.  Warrior Backpack founder, Lee Pennekamp is working to open a local food pantry, and Heritage Baptist Church is providing volunteer, financial, and leadership support to all three ministries.  This is resulting in a real opportunity to open up the back section of our building, roughly 7500 square feet, to a food pantry and resource warehouse, in collaboration with these other ministries.  God is moving in big ways, and He certainly has given us Favor to be partnered with such wonderful other ministries.
