What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Education through strategic communication work
Since 2009, IPN has focused on local and state issues in the Silver State. As a progressive non-partisan organization, we believe civic education must have its foundation in vetted and fact-based research.
Institute for a Progressive Nevada (IPN) is a multi-issue, non-profit organization, working to educate Nevadans on key issues using innovative new media outreach, e-advocacy, traditional organizing and proven earned media strategies. IPN, through strategic communication efforts, empowers, engages and mobilizes Nevadans to build a state where everyone has a fair chance to succeed.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our communications efforts are at the heart of everything we do. IPN touches on nearly every Nevada-related issue at some point in our work. In 2022, we’re working on public lands, voting rights, social justice, healthcare, mis- and dis-information targeting Latinos and Spanish speakers, and so much more. We’ve doubled our focus on gun violence prevention since the mass shooting that rocked our state in 2017. We’re also engaging Nevadans with information that highlights Federal Courts and why they matter. We coordinate with our partners through the latest messaging, tools, training, education efforts, and research to make Nevada a better place for everyone. We are the communications hub for the progressive community across our state.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Research, story banking, and education efforts at IPN touch on nearly every Nevada-related policy or issue. Stories, research, and education are the tools people and communities need to advocate for themselves and Nevada’s future. That’s why we work to empower citizens, communities, partners, and coalitions with information and tools they can use. We then work to amplify these voices to make a true difference.
