Programs and results
What we aim to solve
BPF is committed to the families of fallen Border Patrol Agents. Our goal, in addition to our current programs, is to provide full-ride college or trade school scholarships to all children of fallen agents. This goal comes with a number of challenges to include funding and budgeting without knowing the plans of many of the children and where they intend to go to school. BPF is currently working with the families of the fallen to ensure that future goals are understood, all programs available to the children are made available, and fundraising for the program continues to grow.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Surviving Family Support
The main mission of BPF is provide funding for the families of fallen Border Patrol Agents. When an agent is killed in the line of duty BPF provides $10,000 to the family to assist with the immediate expenses of losing a loved one.
Our program continues to provide support for those that would like to attend Police Week annually, attend BPF events, and special circumstances and requests, as needed.
BPF Scholars Program
BPF is committed to providing a scholarship to all children of the fallen. When a surviving child graduates High School BPF awards a $25,000 4-year scholarship to the the child to attend the school of their choice.
The remaining scholarship funds are awarded out competitively to the children of Border Patrol employees and current Border Patrol Explorers.
Family Services Programs
$10,000 is donated to the families of Border Patrol Agents who pass away off-duty.
Donations are made to the families of Border Patrol employees ranging from $500-$5,000 for on-and-off duty injuries, illnesses, family medical emergencies, natural disasters, and special circumstances.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The motto of the Border Patrol Foundation (BPF) is to honor the memory and serve the families and that is our ultimate goal. BPF honors the memory of all of our fallen by providing direct support to their families financially and emotionally. The financial support comes in both support after they have lost a loved one and scholarship support to their children. Several times a year we also assist in travel for the families to attend National Police Week and BPF events in an effort to ensure they stay connected with those that understand their loss and show them that their loved ones have not and will not be forgotten.
In addition to the programs that support the families of the fallen BPF provides financial support to the families of all employees of the Border Patrol in times of need for off-duty deaths, injuries, illnesses, family medical emergencies and special circumstances.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Through event based fundraising, corporate partnerships, targeted scholarship grants, and personal donations BPF aims to ensure a strong and steady stream of funds to assist in supporting all of our programs.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Through event based fundraising, corporate partnerships, targeted scholarship grants, and personal donations BPF aims to ensure a strong and steady stream of funds to assist in supporting all of our programs.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
BPF has donated over $1.6 million in financial assistance to the families of the United States Border Patrol and awarded over $560,929 in scholarships to the children of the fallen, active-duty and retired agents, and members of the Border Patrol Explorer Program. We plan to continue these programs while working toward ways of improving support to the families of the fallen.
