Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Clothing Boutique
Children in crisis may visit the boutique three times a year where they receive clothing for free, each leaving with 14-18 good conditioned items that include dress code compliant clothing and uniforms. All local social service agencies, including the public schools, are referring agents. Over 2,400 children were clothed in 2019.
Cafe
Our GWV Cafe is open on Sunday nights, providing hot meals to all. Sunday was chosen in order for children who attend to have a meal prior to school on Monday. Included in the hot meal is a fresh salad bar, balancing out the nutritional aspect of the dinner. Additionally, teams deliver hot meals on Sunday to local seniors living in public housing who are unable to get to the café due to lack of transportation and physical impairments. A light lunch is also served each Wednesday when the Clothing Boutique is open. Over 6,900 meals were served to the community in need in 2019.
Family Restorative Living Facility
Currently in the capital funding stage of existence, this facility will provide an 9-15 month transitional opportunity for homeless families. It will cover all aspects of a family life: work, education, marriage, parenting, finances, and faith. This much-needed facility will meet the unmet need within St. Lucie County, helping some of the many homeless families.
