What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Global Art Intensives

Drawchange visits schools around the world to bring week-long art intensives to children ages 5-10. We choose national and international schools based on need, and measure programmatic success through pre-and post-session creativity surveys. Our unique curriculum is designed by licensed Art Therapists to promote collaboration, self-esteem and healing. After the art intensives, we provide art supplies and monthly lesson plans for teachers so participating children can continue with art for the rest of the school year. Our vision is to break generational cycles of poverty by empowering children through easily accessible arts and mental health services.

Population(s) Served
Children and youth
Economically disadvantaged people

We serve homeless, at-risk, refugee, and asylum-seeking youth in Atlanta, Orlando, Tucson, Puerto Rico, Ethiopia, and Costa Rica. Our weekly art therapy-based programs address the critical emotional and social needs of children experiencing homelessness that are often overlooked in traditional education and welfare programs. Drawchange creates ongoing programs in homeless shelters to conduct breathing exercises, imagination sessions, and art-therapy based projects primarily with children ages 5-10.
