Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Continue to serve the schools we have built and the children of our communities through providing both capital and educational project assistance. We have 25 students in our Higher Education Scholarship Program and are exploring opportunities to provide specific educational opportunities with programs such as computer literacy and intense instruction in English.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
GCE partners with the community to INVEST in schools - we do not provide hand-outs of charity. The community must own, operate, and maintain the facilities GCE provides. We believe "You nurture what you create" and involve the community in the school's creation.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Nepal Country Director Tanka Kapri is our main capability in Nepal and spearheads GCE's activities there. We also utilize local talent and involve the community.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Current programs under consideration include more computer/technology education and a teacher training program, especially relating to English skills. We are also considering other school projects and a scholarship program.

- We employ non-traditional ways of gathering feedback on programs and trainings, which may include interviews, roundtables, and external reviews with/by community stakeholders.
- We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
