Mission

Stay at Home in Wilton is dedicated to supporting Wilton Seniors who choose to “age in place". Notes from the nonprofit

Recent generations of senior citizens are becoming more active and more able to manage their lives. As a result, many do not want to give up the pleasure of living in their Wilton homes that they have loved for many years.

Stay At Home in Wilton provides the support needed to make "Aging in Place" in your own home quite enjoyable, and for less than a dollar a day.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

1. Increase membership
2. Grow donor base
3. Add volunteers
4. Continue supporting our members needs
5. Expand the social program

1. A targeted approach to identifying potential members and potential volunteers
2. Exercise local contacts to the expand base of donors.
3. Continue looking for acceptable vendors to recommend to members
4. Get feedback from members on desirable social programs.

We have a very strong Board of Directors that is motivated to support our members. We have two employees that focus on doing what is needed to help members. We continue to promote the value of membership to the Wilton senior population through individual contact and a strong PR program.

We have over 100 member, with a renewal rate over 90%. In 2020, we struggled as did most others.
We lost about 20 volunteers, but this has not had an immediate impact because members were not as need of support. So we have about 20 volunteers who handle all the the members requests. Most of 40 social programs were converted to online which means that a few members were excluded. To maintain contact with the members, each board member was assigned 3 to 5 members to be regularly called each week. This has proven to be very enriching for both the board members and the members. We have not lost more than the usual 10% of members and surprisingly, a few new members signed up so the our members hip has stayed about constant.
