What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
America Recycles Day Contest
Environmental contests encourage kids to learn more about protecting their environment and empower them to help change the world. Teachers can introduce contests to students in their classrooms or contests can be pursued at home. By entering these contests, kids will gain a better understanding of environmental education, fine arts, social studies and science. Contests are fun, offer kids the opportunity to win cool prizes, a few moments of fame and, most importantly, to learn.
Read Across America
Since 2014, in partnership with the Sawnee Woman's Club, we have been donating new and gently used books to inspire the love of reading to Forsyth County Title I Elementary Schools, and to local charities and literacy organizations. Over 15,360 books have been donated.
Teacher Reuse Exchange
The mission of the Teacher Reuse Exchange (TRE) is to enable teachers in Forsyth County public, private, pre-K or home schools (not virtual learning), as well as Forsyth County nonprofits who serve children, to have access to new and gently used materials for classroom and educational use.
The TRE provides an innovative approach to the recovery and reuse of teacher, school, business and community discards and donations. We want to keep items out of the landfill and put them in the hands of teachers and children. Let's fill classrooms - Not the landfill!
The TRE is dedicated to and operated exclusively for non-profit purposes, and promotes an ethic of conservation and reuse of valuable reusable resources.
