What we aim to solve
It is estimated that by the year 2023 there will be 380,000 adults with autism in need of extensive services. Families of people with autism face an uncertain future, not knowing if they will be able to provide a satisfying life for their loved ones. Echoing Hope Ranch is helping to make a difference.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Residential Services for Adults with Developmental Disabilities
Echoing Hope Ranch provides residential services for up to 10 adults with autism and other developmental differences at our San Pedro River site.
Our professionals work around the clock to meet the needs of those we support by helping them gain the skills necessary to complete daily chores, grooming, planning, participating in recreational activities and leisure skills, and improving social & communication skills. Individuals served by this program also receive assistance and support with vocational and educational opportunities.
Ranchers are provided with an opportunity to work with animals or in the gardens, swim, hike, exercise and work on art projects and crafting in the daytime. Ranchers participate in paid work opportunities helping to grow produce which will be sold to local residents at Farmers' Markets and through the Community Supported Agriculture program (CSA). Ranchers also raise livestock for meat production, chickens for egg production, and goats for milk which can be used in making caramels, lotions and soaps.
The program is funded through a variety of methods including private pay and through state agencies.
The Ranch is designed specifically for teens and adults with autism and other developmental differences. Determining factors to be used in admitting person to our services include that they are 18 years or older and that they are willing to participate in Echoing Hope's ranchers program.
Although we cannot guarantee there will be space and staff available, we can guarantee applications will be reviewed in a timely manner and that the Echoing Hope Ranch team will be in touch shortly upon receipt.
In-Home Habilitation and Respite Care
Echoing Hope Ranch provides home and community based services to people with autism and other developmental differences. Services include habilitation and respite in family homes. Each person’s program will be based on his or her specific needs and driven by an Individual Support Plan (ISP) that outlines measurable, observable goals.
Services are targeted to serve multiple communities in Southeastern Arizona including Tucson, Sierra Vista, Bisbee, and their surrounding areas.
The program serves people 3 years of age and older and may be funded through a variety of methods including private pay and state agencies.
Employment Services
Echoing Hope Ranch offers employment opportunities and supports for people with Autism and other developmental differences.
People with developmental differences work in many different work environments through EHR's Employment Services Program. They may work in a group supported environment as Ranchers in the agricultural, facilities, or janitorial crews, or they may work for an organization off-site ranging from movie theaters, grocery stores, and more.
On crews at the Ranch, employees learn farming and animal care techniques or they may learn building and repairing skills. They also learn what is required in a work environment in order to be a productive employee. Employment Services participants work with others to foster teamwork and a sense of community.
All end-products are sold at local Farmer's Markets, through EHR's Community Supported Agriculture program (CSA), or at EHR's annual Fall Harvest Festival. This allows employees to participate in the greater community while developing work and social skills.
The program is funded in a variety of ways including donations and through state agencies. While EHR cannot guarantee that there will be positions available, we will review all applications and respond shortly thereafter.
Day Treatment & Training Program for Adults (DTA)
Echoing Hope Ranch offers a day program for adults. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
At our day program, adults with Autism and other developmental disabilities gather to participate in a variety of recreational and learning opportunities at the site and in the community. DTA attendees enjoy a variety of activities including volunteering in the community, exercise, music, arts & crafts, animal care, gardening, and going on outings throughout Cochise and Pima counties. They also practice activities of daily living skills and participate in light vocational learning for fun and/or to prepare for work.
