What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Support Groups

We've created a support network for facilitators in Washington State. In collaboration with partners across the state we provide training, technical assistance, and information for TBI Support Group facilitators. Our trainings now include facilitators and leaders from across the United States.

Project PEER is a unique program focusing on Personal Empowerment through Education and Resources. We work with individuals affected by brain injury and their families & caregivers to learn, practice and improve social, business, and daily living skills. More importantly, this program is designed to help participants realize their own potential to embrace leadership and the entrepreneur spirit, and create jobs that are lead by peers.

The BEST community outreach program enables volunteers and enthusiasts to become more involved in their community by providing support and resources for brain injury awareness and education. Our outreach also focuses on increasing legislative, media, and public attention to the importance of recognizing and addressing the needs of individuals with brain injury and their loved ones. BEST's ongoing engagement with individuals and community organizations through support groups, peer mentoring, and community outreach activities helps us to identify needs and community trends in order to  stimulate dialogue that address solutions.

    We serve neurodivergent individuals and their families including those with Brain Injury, ASD, ADHD, Stroke.

    With the onset of the pandemic in 2020 our community expressed a need for support platforms that would allow peer support groups to continue even though they could not meet in person. BEST made our video meeting platform available and launched an online video course on how to use Zoom and Skype.
