Child Proof Training

Child Proof Advice offers online training on child proofing the home for all family members, caregivers and for professional child care providers. We teach how and when to child proof a home and/or child care facility through an easy to understand D.I.Y. Safety Guide and professional video. Beginning before birth, to protect an infant through the preschool stages of development, we help all along the way to keep precious children safe. When children first begin to crawl their curiosity about the world around them triples as they explore any and every thing. Preschoolers develop motor skills, but they have poor impulse control and judgment. They don’t have the strength, coordination nor maturity to avoid injury and their curiosity is a powerful force. As a result, they enter one of the most dangerous times of their lives when they are at the highest risk for injury. Injuries in the home are preventable. 9 million children visit an emergency room each year due to preventable injuries and 120,000 children are permanently disabled. 70% of those children are under the age of four. If a disease were killing our children at the rate reflected in these statistics, we would be outraged and would demand a cure. Yet, injuries are occurring like a major health epidemic. Some parents and caregivers will think considering child proofing is not necessary. After all, their parents didn’t seem to do anything special and they were raised successfully. But stop and think….how would you feel if you were one of those parents whose child was rushed to the emergency room due to your carelessness? There is absolutely no greater devastation than losing a child and certainly that devastation is compounded when the loss is due to a preventable accident. With our online training, Child Proof Advice offers a Do-It-Yourself approach to child proofing. Our Child Proof Advice Safety Guide allows parents of all economic circumstances to do as much as they choose in providing safety for their children...and to do it at their leisure. The cost of typically unaffordable professional child proofing is decreased dramatically with the use of our Do-It-Yourself Safety Guide and safety products. As with any child protection service, the offerings of Child Proof Advice are intended as a supplement to close adult supervision. The knowledge of Child Proof Advice was derived from the evaluation of products, educational materials, prevention programs and the input from health care practitioners and experts in child safety. Your question is not will your child find hazards in the home, but when...

Child Proof Advice originated by offering classroom style training workshops to hospital birthing classes, health departments, child care facilities, adoption agencies, nanny programs, military bases etc. Modest workshop attendance and limited interest indicated a more modern approach was necessary. An exciting website offering online parent and professional training and the publication of a downloadable e-book safety guide resulted. This operational foundation is nearing completion allowing us to focus on marketing of the entire program to the original entities, but in a new format. Safety products and equipment have been ordered and stored, marketing materials are in place and communications are expanding with contacts increasing. Additional plans are in place to begin direct customer contact to all targeted markets in January, 2019 including hospital parenting classes and to connect with offices of obstetrician and pediatric physicians. We also plan to make additional donations of our educational program and safety equipment to the Department of Social Services Care Ring Nurse Family Partnership organization which helps first time mothers with limited resources.
