Project Lebanon

In the light of the monstrous disaster that has struck Beirut, exacerbating an already alarming national humanitarian crisis, RDI is partnering with For the Love of Kids, relentless advocates for children's rights and their best interests. On August 4, at approximately 18h00 (local time), a warehouse at the Beirut Port containing large quantities of ammonium nitrate exploded. After an initial explosion, a subsequent blast caused widespread destruction, with reports of damage more than 20 kilometers from the port area.
The effects of the Beirut Explosion disaster are catastrophic to people, infrastructure, economic livelihoods, and to the environment. Children in Lebanon are not only bearing the incredible burden of a broken country and a collapsed economy; now, they are holding on for dear life.

Population(s) Served

Help for vulnerable children between 0 to 18 years old. Each home will house a 'family' (up to 10 children and two local house parents) and provide a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for children to grow in. We are anticipating our first healthy homes to be built in Ethiopia.

Population(s) Served
Children and youth

The Right of Hope School aims to embrace young people with disabilities over the age of 21 who are released from public schools and are left to the care of their parents. This type of school is essential due to the social and educational gaps in the community to provide services to these young people once they have completed a formal education. The Right of Hope seeks to maintain the abilities that these young people have gained in previous years and help develop new ones, so students can be integrated with dignity into their communities. We are so proud to be partnering with The Right of Hope!

RDI is thrilled to support Nourished for Nil which was formed in 2017 by Christina McBeth and Louise Saurin with a mission to rescue food that would otherwise go to waste and redistribute it to the Hawke's Bay community. The goal is to minimize the food waste in Hawke's Bay and keep their community nourished for nil.
They are a local non-profit organization with a simple system, rescuing food from donors to recipients in the space of mere hours. The team is comprised of committed volunteers with a shared passion for reducing waste and helping the community.

Project Peace and Joy is an initiative to help vulnerable families during the holiday season. We provide groceries, gift bundles, and gift cards to make the holiday season extra special. Each family represents extremely difficult circumstances and these gifts let them know that they are valued, appreciated, and loved.

We work with the local High School guidance department to provide holiday gift cards to vulnerable children from our local community. In addition, the families of these students receive gift cards for groceries and a local restaurant. They are always surprised and extremely grateful.
"Thank you, to the angels in the community again, for your overwhelmingly kind support of
