Both the National Hurricane Center and the American Red Cross have developed specific guidelines for Hurricane supply kits. It includes provisions to carry you through a week or two after a storm. Our hurricane preparation includes additional recommendations based on experiences of real people who have been through hurricanes. A Hurricane Supply Center is necessary because a disaster can happen without warning giving us no time to gather the supplies we may need in order to survive. It's important to prepare in advance. We've found that most families do not prepare adequately for a hurricane, which makes this Hurricane Supply Center even more vital.
