CHRISTIAN VOICES FOR LIFE OF FORT BEND COUNTY
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
There is much information about abortion, contraception, in vitro fertilization and other life topics that the average American person does not know. This lack of knowledge leads to approval of certain practices based on incomplete knowledge.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
40 Days for Life
An international campaign held twice a year that includes a prayer vigil for 40 days outside an abortion facility. Individuals are contacted by email and through churches, and asked to sign up for a one hour shift at the facility.
weekly email
An email featuring information on a particular life topic, a related prayer, and a suggested action is sent out weekly to over 250 subscribers.
Education
Educational presentations can be made to church or civic groups, and are also available online as videos. Professionally made videos can also be presented with discussion afterward. Brochures are also available for educational purposes. There is no charge for presentations, although donations are of course always welcome.
We also post to Facebook and Twitter, host tables at events such as Texas Rally for Life, sell pro-life T-shirts at cost and occasionally send letters to doctors and emails to pastors. Our weekly email is also part of our educational efforts.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
1. To make available to our community good information on a variety of life issues, through our web site, emails, printed materials, and speaking engagements.
2. To train volunteers and maintain a presence of prayer and sidewalk advocacy outside the abortion facility closest to us, to offer women information on where to find the help they need to be empowered to choose life.
3. To organize community events such as 40 Days for Life to educate, encourage prayer, and engage Christians in productive action to build a culture that respects the sanctity of human life.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
1. Maintain a small library of up-to-date information on a variety of life topics on our web site.
2. Send out a weekly email to educate and encourage prayer and action.
3. Send occasional emails to area Christian churches to send information or invite participation in our programs.
4. Send occasional mailings to doctors to send information on contraception, NaProTechnology, or other topics which are not widely known in the medical community.
5. Maintain an active program of sidewalk advocacy outside an abortion facility, in affiliation with Sidewalk Advocates for life. We recruit and train volunteers, provide them with materials and prayer support, and organize the scheduling.
6. Provide opportunities for local Christians to be involved in 40 Days for Life and in ongoing prayer at abortion facilities.
7. Network with local churches and civic groups to encourage speaking opportunities to church and other audiences.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We use the internet to keep up to date on pro-life developments published by several other pro-life organizations, and incorporate that information into our weekly emails and database.
We have good relationships with several area churches who are pro-life and work with us to recruit volunteers and spread pro-life information.
We have built up a database of over 250 area Christian churches, which we contact via email to invite participation in our programs. We update the database regularly.
We also have a database of area doctors, including ob/gyn, family medicine doctors, and pediatricians.
We have received training from Sidewalk Advocates for Life, and as affiliates have access to continuing support from them.
