Mission Statement Our mission is to develop and support a community of educators and inform assessment practices in higher education to foster and improve student learning and institutional quality.

AALHE Annual Assessment Conference
The AALHE Annual Assessment Conference is an exceptional forum for assessment practitioners in higher education. Small sessions and multiple opportunities to interact with others in the assessment community make this one of the best resources for assessment professionals.
Conference attendees choose from sessions that showcase assessment practices, participate in interactive workshops, discuss ideas during poster and panel sessions, and engage with leading thinkers in assessment throughout the conference. People from all types of institutions attend the AALHE conference.
The AALHE Assessment Conference is designed to:
-Provide professional development opportunities for the advanced assessment practitioner and newcomers to the field;
-Connect assessment professionals with others in the field; and,
-Lead and advocate best practices in assessment.
AALHE’s small sessions and networking opportunities provide attendees the opportunity to connect with leading thinkers in assessment.

New Strategic Goals (July 2020-December 2023)
I. Cultivate a Community of Assessment Practitioners
The Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education will support assessment practitioners and cultivate a professional community.
II. Lead and Advocate for Assessment
The Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education will lead and advocate for assessment that will have a positive impact on higher education and its stakeholders now and into the future.
III. Provide a Quality Membership Experience
The Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education will continuously monitor and enhance the value of membership
IV. Increase and Diversify Revenue
The Association for the Assessment of Learning in Higher Education will diversify revenue streams to mitigate risk and provide resources to support organizational success.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
I. Cultivating a Community of Assessment Practitioners - through the Annual Conference, Webinars, Podcasts, Publications, Member Directory and other professional development and networking activities.
II. Lead and Advocate for Assessment - through sharing the work of practitioners at the Annual Conference, Publications, and other forums provided by the Association.
III. Provide a Quality Membership Experience- through opportunities to learn, volunteer, and lead in the Association and providing value-added membership benefits that support practitioners with improving their assessment practice.
IV. Increase and Diversify Revenue - through identifying additional offerings that will serve members and the field of assessment in higher education.
