What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Grants

The Grant Program is aimed at encouraging innovative, creative, and collaborative projects in Great Falls Public Schools. The program provides opportunities for students to learn in new environments, experience creative teaching methods, participate in out of school experiences, or have new equipment that will provide enrichment and support. GFPS employees can submit individual applications for funding ranging from $500 to $10,000 (depending on grant).

Population(s) Served
Children and youth

Distinguished Scholars from Great Falls and C.M.R High Schools are selected based on academic achievement, GPA, and course work. In addition, counselors and administrators from the high schools and Paris Gibson Education Center select Distinguished Achievers. The Distinguished Achievers are selected based on leadership, classroom achievement, service or their ability to overcome obstacles. Each scholar and achiever then chooses a teacher who has been influential in his or her education. The Foundation prepares a booklet honoring those teachers. The Excellence in Education booklet is distributed to the public through the Great Falls Tribune.

Population(s) Served
Students

The GFPS Foundation manages the funds for several scholarships available to graduating seniors at all three GFPS schools. The Foundation also provides scholarships for students taking dual credit classes.

Population(s) Served
Adolescents

The Foundation Board is focusing on enhancing the building projects made possible by the passage of the bond levy. Our efforts have secured well over $2 million that will improve education for generations of students!
