Arts & Culture Summer Camp
The Arts & Culture Summer Camp is an exciting immersion in multicultural dance, global music and traditional arts & crafts for children and youths. Campers of all abilities enjoy learning music, dance and crafts alongside locally and internationally respected teaching artists and culture-bearers. Arts and Culture Camp is a non-competitive environment that fosters creativity and honors ancient wisdom in study of artistic heritage from the four corners of the globe.
Multicultural Arts Residency
The world's most vibrant cultural expressions are represented in Multicultural Arts Residency program for K-12 students. Ethnic Arts' roster of professional teaching artists bring traditional dance & music into the classroom to merge cultural education with core curriculum. Award-winning dance and music programs for school or youth groups include:African Dance (grades K-12)Dance Around the World (grades K-12)Keiki Hula: Hawai'ian Dance for Kids (grade 3 through 12)Rockin' Rollin" & Dancin' (grades 3 through 12)Palabras (grades K through 12)Ritmo Para La Vida (grades K through 12)
Journeys Channel
Journeys is a series of media production projects that showcase traditional arts to a broad spectrum of mainstream audiences. The series includes:"Journeys in Latin Jazz" -A weekly showcase of jazz and latin jazz music, produced in partnership with Radio Sausalito in Marin County, California."Journeys in Art"- A community access television production that brings the world to viewers through visual and performing arts. The program will air in Northern California and throughout the South Pacific."Jouneys in Dance" - Filmed in locations around the world, this instructional DVD series introduces global culture to viewers are they are guided through step-by-step dance lessons from the four corners of the globe.
Journeys Cultural Exchange & Community Engagement
Cultural Exchange & Travel Study is a valuable opportunity for participants to serve each other as a citizen ambassadors: working together to transform and build sustainable global community. This is another installment in our flagship program founded in 1985. As Ethnic Arts Institute International celebrates 25 years of multicultural programs, we reaffirm our commitment to bridging international communities one person at a time through the transforming and healing power of the arts! Each year the program promises to be bigger and better than the previous exchanges with artists in Hawaii in 1989-91 and Brazil in 2003."Agri+Culture" hosts 10 high school students from Port Au Prince for a travel study and cultural exchange that enriches both San Francisco Bay Area youths and their Haitian counterparts. The activities selected are ones that address critical needs and present both groups with opportunities to action effective, positive change.
Annual Carnegie Hall Invitational Concert
This student showcase is an exciting and unique opportunity for students performers to present work on world-class stage in iconic venues before international audiences.
