THE MANDATE INC
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
We are addressing the stronghold of poverty in third-world countries and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those we minister too.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Widows and Orphans
Supplemental food distribution for widows is unfortunately a regular occurrence. There are so many variables to an adequate food supply in Uganda. The Mandate often provides supplies to widows such as a pound of rice, beans, or posho; as well as fruit and fresh vegetables from the gardens grown by the farmers. Firewood, charcoal, and soap are also commonly provided supplies. We show widows love and compassion by feeding them and taking care of their needs – whether it be by food (which we are growing ourselves), raising chickens for them to eat or sell, or fixing things in their homes to keep them safe and dry.
Education Support
Opportunities we never knew existed reveal themselves through education. Our mission is to facilitate quality education for children in Uganda. We support Christian teachers at the Hands of Hope School in Uganda by providing funds to supplement their salaries. Having quality teachers makes a huge difference in the lives of the children they teach. Because the children live at the school during school terms, these teachers also invest in the children’s lives outside of the classroom.
Womens Health
Women’s healthcare is at a significant deficit in this area and many other remote regions of Uganda. Improving healthy birth rates and providing supplies to young ladies that help them stay in school and continue their education are two priorities.
Clean Water
The Mandate provides water wells in the area of Uganda where we work. Clean water helps to cut down on water-borne diseases. Villagers travel great distances to get water for drinking, cooking, and bathing. Most of the time, the children and the women have to walk to a water source to get water in 5 to 10-gallon cans. These wells are drilled strategically in an area where the most significant impact is needed. We hire local Ugandans to drill the wells, which provides jobs and safe, clean water.
Evangelism
But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. 1 Peter 3:15
Jesus is at the core of everything we do through The Mandate. Through His guidance and grace, we are able to provide basic care, education, and opportunities to people hungry for a relationship with Him. As the stronghold of poverty is broken through sustainable programs, the love of Jesus is realized in a way that draws more to Him.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The Mandate Inc. helps to break the stronghold of poverty by providing jobs, drilling clean water wells, providing education for children, fighting malnutrition by teaching how to raise rabbits for protein, helping widows with basic needs, helping build desks and buildings for schools we work with, etc. We also teach the Word of God and share the gospel through preaching and teaching through adult Bible Studies, Children's Sunday School, and preaching in the prisons.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We raise monies to drill clean water wells in Uganda. We use local people to drill the wells thus providing jobs. We provide jobs on our property in Uganda by raising rabbits, crops, guards, etc. All monies raised from the rabbit farm go back into paying our workers. We raise monies from donors to help pay for small solar light kits to go into widows' homes. We raise monies for children to go to school from elementary through university.\nWe raise monies for Bibles, notebooks, and pens for prisoners in the Iganga prison. We have a program for girls that teaches them about menstruation and other health issues related to young girls to help keep them in school. We have a program to teach people to raise rabbits. All the projects we do are funded by individuals, businesses, and churches. Groups come to Uganda to help us with projects also.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
The Mandate Inc. is a small non-profit that is supported by large and small givers. We stay within budget each year and use donors gifts wisely. Each year we take a close look at what we expect in donations and make adjustments if needed in order to keep us strong and viable. We are always seeking new ways to raise funds and add more donors to help us accomplish our goals. We have a strong board that keeps close tabs on our goals, our funds and our accomplishments.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
1. The Mandate has drilled 11 wells in the our village of Busowobi, Uganda and one in a neighboring village.\n2. The Mandate has helped one school with monies to build 3 classroom buildings and 1 boys latrine building.\n3. The Mandate has taught over 80 girls in our hope for girls project and given them kits with reusable pads and other items in them.\n4. The Mandate has helped a small school across the road from our place in Busowobi to build 3 classrooms. We have also built desks to go in those classrooms.\n5. The Mandate is helping 18 children to go to school. One recently graduated from sewing school. Another will graduate university in social work in June. Another is graduating in June from Mid-wife school and will be teaching at the school following graduation. The other children are working to advance to the next grade.\n6. The Mandate has a rabbit farm of over 300 rabbits. We have sold a couple hundred over the past year. We have groups that have contacted us to come and be trained on how to raise rabbits so that they can raise their own which will provide meat for their families and provide income as a business.\n7. The Mandate has had several hundred people accept Christ as their Savior this past year and we have given out over a hundred Bibles along with notebooks and pens.
