Population(s) Served

Judy’s Mission has partnered with Dia de la Mujer Latina Inc., a leading organization that administers curriculum for the Promotores Training and Certification program. With their help, curriculum has been developed using Judy’s story as a case study and taught to Promotores across the state through the program. In addition, the curriculum will be shared with the Cancer Support Committee and also the Gynecological Cancers Cooperatives and other networks.

Because of the void of information about ovarian cancer in Promotores’ training curriculum, the need is crucial to include this gynecological cancer in the materials and educate low-income Latino communities on how to recognize symptoms early, which may lead to an earlier diagnosis of ovarian cancer.

Population(s) Served

Survivors Teaching Students aims to educate the next generation of medical professionals on the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer by bringing survivors into the classrooms of medical and nursing students to share their unique stories along with facts about the disease. Students are able to interact with and learn from actual patients.

Population(s) Served

#B4S4 is a social media awareness campaign that encourages women to know the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer Before Stage IV(B4S4). When found in Stage I, women who have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer have a 935 survival rate.
