What we aim to solve
In most communities there is all too often a disconnect between people and animals where animals are thought of as a separate part, as opposed to an integral part of life. This problem increases in the less rural areas.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
MIracle Ranch for Children and Animals
Miracle Ranch Group Home for Children is a faith-based residential care program which operates in a therapeutic nature-centered environment to promote Human-Animal Interaction with a goal to make a substantial impact on the integration of animals into people’s lives where the quality of life for both is improved and sustained.
Through this interaction on a daily basis, as a model for living, our program is designed to emotionally and psychologically bond each child to the animals who require as much unconditional love, understanding and acceptance as they do. The methodologies used teach each child to provide excellent care for all animals and the environment developing real life skills focusing on empathy, responsibility, nurturing and proper care of the animals and environment.
The children benefit from their interaction with domesticated animals and animals in nature. Being in the nature-centered environment also avails the children to learning ranching and farming skills as well as providing a solid foundation of work ethic and responsibility in preparation for adulthood. Other basic but fundamental skills are learned during this time include life skills, coping skills, living skills and the importance of appropriate loving relationships.
These teachings in turn promote positive behaviors of the children who are in turn taught to apply what they have learned to their relationships with other people and, just as importantly, to themselves as building blocks to self-esteem, self-worth, self-discipline and self-respect.
Saving Equine
An all encompassing program to help horses continue to exist in environments that promote continuing integration with people. There are several aspects that are considered which include working horses, pleasure horses and wild horses.
Giving Goats
Our Giving Goats program is a way for people to enjoy the wonders of goats which in many ways can become the new dog. Goats are smart, fun and athletic so they can become a part of your family. They can be house trained and even go for walks just as any dog can, or are happy to roam the yard for nibbles. Goats are known to be descendents of the Great Houdini and have come to coin the term "Escape Goats". (Just kidding... no pun intended!) so of course proper fencing is a must.
Goats make great pets, as well as help with weed wacking, hedge trimming and even provide milk and cheese. There are even opportunities for goats in the entertainment business, when trained properly, where they are known as "Show Goats" and in the sport of canoeing where they happily sing "Row, row, row, your goat".
Most importantly, in the world of human-animal interaction, goats when properly nurtured, respond wonderfully to help humans in therapeutic settings and as emotional support animals.
Community Service
Community Service Hours as required by a Court for individuals to serve, as required by an Educational Institution for an individual to volunteer or for individuals or groups who wish to participate in a volunteer program to support the mission of HALF.
Community Service hours offered by HALF include tasks or activities working around animals, around the ranch, during events, or during projects. The behavioral focus is on Human-Animal Interaction which is accomplished by including service hours during events or during projects which interactions with animals and people are monitored to instill a sense of responsibility. Commitments to reliability, timeliness, diligence, cooperation and respect are mandated in order to be accepted into the Community Service Program. A Certificate of Completion will be issued for the hours successfully completed.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Human Animal Life Foundation (HALF) exists to promote integration between humans and animals to enhance and sustain the quality of life through charitable interactive programs, to the benefit of both humans and animals, that help prevent abuse and neglect, that provide support in times of tragedy and that include preservation of land utilized as our program facilities for generations to come.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
The programs of HALF, such as Miracle Ranch, Saving Equine and HART (Human Animal Relationship Training), positively impact the lives of school age children, and adults, people with disabilities, people with special needs, animals who have been rescued, animals who serve people and animals who are retired from service. Focusing on relationships between humans and animals and interacting with animals helps to teach respect and honor of all living creatures. This human animal interaction (HAI) is critical to preventing abuse and neglect of animals and humans, as well as developing mutual respect where the interaction is the conduit.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
HALF is fortunate to have experienced leadership and knowledgeable professionals who are aligned with the mission. The founders are creative thinkers with a vision to share the human-animal-life experience and have authored HALF's unique, effective and successful programs. HALF successfully works hand in hand with several local agencies, state agencies and community professionals such as Department of Children & Families, Department of Juvenile Justice; County Sheriff's Department; County School District, Elementary through High School, both main stream and Exceptional Student Education (ESE) programs including Emotional/Behavioral Disability (EBD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing (DHH).
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
HALF has positively impacted the lives of hundreds of children, their families and care teams, as well as hundreds of horses and other animals. HALF has developed and implemented unique and creative programs that have improved and sustained the quality of life for both humans and animals. Although the work of HALF has been met with applause from many community members the objective to increase fund-raising revenue remains a challenge.
