Giving Back
DAWG Nation Hockey Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity which believes in the power of ice hockey to benefit both able-bodied and disabled amateur ice hockey players, and their families dealing with crisis. We strive to give everyone opportunity to gain independence and confidence they need to perform in the face of adversity, on or off the ice. With the fantastic support of the ice hockey community we host and sponsor participation for athletes in a variety of national and international amateur ice hockey events, and we also provide aid and support to deserving candidates, in times of need. For additional information on DAWG Nation’s mission, events, and opportunities to participate and donate, please visit http://www.DAWGNation.org. Play Hard. Play Fair. Give Back.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
We are tackling the building of a bridge between the disabled athlete, the able-bodied athlete and the educational community.\n\nIt is our goal to design, build and operate the nation’s first three sheet hockey arena intended to support both disabled and able-bodied athletes.\n\nWhile ambitious, with your help, this unique effort can be achieved.\n\nWe have secured donated land and are partnering with a host of Colorado’s leading companies to make the dream a reality. The final product will be a point of pride for the entire hockey community and its success will undoubtedly change lives.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
The groundwork started on this project in 2017, since then we have had over 10M of in-kind donations to help this project get off the ground. In 2019 we solidified the land for our project in excess of 10 acres in the beautiful Castle Pines, CO. A special fundraising board has been assembled and the project will be a "Community Project", which will have the opportunity to leave a legacy. The official announcement of the project was made on 10/31/2019 via PRWeb Release (http://www.prweb.com/releases/dawg_nation_hockey_foundation_announces_rink_project_in_castle_pines/prweb16690736.htm).
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
DAWG Nation has created an impeccable reputation and with 12 years and over 400 recipients we have proven we are here to stay. Since 2011, we have given out over $4 million to families in need. Our current board is strong, smart and willing to look to the future and make decisions that will be for the better of the organization. Saving money has been our goal from step one, if we can get something donated or get a discount to help our cause, we are always looking for ways to engage our community.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have secured a site for the rink, Castle Pines, CO. We have secured a general contractor, Saunders. DAWG Nation CEO, Martin Richardson, has been working tirelessly to obtain many vendors and corporate commitments which will fund the effort as a 'Community Giving Project'.
