What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

The Youth Corps of America, Inc. is an innovative prevention strategy who teams up with local Parks and Recreation departments, Weed and Seed sites, local police departments and juvinile courts. Our major goal is to reduce the amount of at-risk youth joining gangs and committing crimes. We do this through successful proven programs such as the Survival Wilderness Adventure Training (SWAT),
The Martial Arts Resiliency Skills (MARS),
Drug Education For Youth DEFY, and our most popular Public Service Announcement programs.

Population(s) Served

Martial Arts Resiliency Skills (MARS) is a long-term violence and substance abuse prevention program that is designed to build leadership and resiliency skills in youth from the ages of eight to eighteen. By teaching traditional martial arts philosophy, strategies and technique, then applying it to a modern day context, MARS develops strong character, self-esteem, and moral sensibility to instill positive life-skills that are necessary for our young people to succeed in today’s society.
