What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Arts Education

At the Carrollwood Cultural Center, you are invited to learn a new skill, revisit an old one, or simply “do that one thing you’ve always wanted to do.”

Through art, ceramics, dance, music and theatre you will gain a new appreciation for the arts – perhaps even discover a talent you never knew you had. Regardless of the reason, there is always something new and exciting to learn at the Carrollwood Cultural Center.

Adults

Artistic expression, belting it out, busting a move and getting into character are all encouraged!

Through art, music, dance and drama campers ages 4 to 10 will explore a different theme each week – all in a fun, creative and safe environment.

In our new youth program for ages 11 to 13, campers will use a theme as inspiration for developing their very own staged production!

The paint is mixed and the stage is set. So, cue the music and get ready to dance through a summer loaded with creativity, friends and memories!

Established in 2011 and named after the Center’s founding artistic director, Mary Ann Scialdo, MAS Community Theatre produces several stage productions a year. From the hilarious murder-mystery of Murder’s in the Heir to high-spirited musical HAIRSPRAY: The Broadway Musical, MAS is home for community thespians and theatre lovers alike.

The Carrollwood Cultural Center’s Community Chorus is open to anyone, regardless of experience, as long as you have a song in your heart. From the camp fire to the Red Carpet, members from all walks of life come together to share their gift and love of song. The chorus performs regularly at the Center, local events and has even been known to “pop up” in crowds around the holidays. The group meets weekly to rehearse; however, this group of friendly folk are known to keep in touch outside of rehearsals, too.

The Carrollwood Winds is a concert band comprised of local community members who are committed to performance. The band performs a wide range of literature at the high school and college level. Members of the band are not beginners or novices, rather members of the community with band experience who are looking for a venue to continue their craft. The Carrollwood Winds performs at the Carrollwood Cultural Center four to five times throughout the year and is branching out to other community and educational venues as well.
