Mission

The mission of PPTCO is to be a center of learning, discovery and connection for emerging and established local theatrical artists. We work to encourage playwriting in Pittsburgh especially among people who may not have the opportunity to see their work produced - emerging artists, marginalized artists, and people who are self taught or new to the arts; and to encourage new working partnerships between writers and directors. At PPTCO, we strive to connect cultures through theater, particularly between the African-American and white communities because we believe when diverse groups work together to produce a theatrical production, or when they sit together in the audience to watch a performance, bridges are built and crossed.
