What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Eden Environmental Club

Eden partners with local schools and neighborhoods to facilitate our custom-designed environmental education curriculum aimed at teaching basic environmental science and cultivating better conservation practices at the household level.

Eden Club challenges students to become responsible global citizens by focusing on relevant environmental education issues and tackling practical projects that protect and restore the student's local environment. We demonstrate technologies for more sustainable living to inspire students to bring these changes to their own communities.

Economically disadvantaged people
Adolescents

Eden Environmental Camp provides vulnerable and at-risk children and youth intentional exposure to the wilderness and local environmental issues through camping and adventure. Children participate in forest hikes, boat rides, safari walks, and team-building activities. Through discovery learning, children's attitudes and behaviors towards their environment are transformed, enabling them to live more sustainably on earth.
Our goal is to honor each child's dignity, cultivating their potential to flourish and live in spiritual, relational, and natural harmony.

Eden's Ecopreneurship program is enhancing the capacity of vulnerable women to become economically independent ecopreneurs. The Naivasha Recycling and Empowerment Centre (REC) provides employment to vulnerable women in a safe space where they sort out plastic waste, grind it into flakes and sell to plastic manufacturing companies. Across the world, women are disproportionately affected by unsustainable, unhealthy, environmental practices. Eden deliberately empowers women and girls because we recognise the role they play in managing natural resources.

Population(s) Served
Unemployed people
Sex workers
Victims of crime and abuse
Victims of disaster
Internally displaced people

Eden focuses on restoring landscapes and ecosystems in order to mitigate climate change and reduce poverty in vulnerable communities. Eden works with local communities to restore and repair degraded landscapes, because the improvement of land directly correlates to an improved quality of life: crop production increases, health improves and families can escape survival mode.

Eden’s Eco-Champion Membership Program cultivates the next generation of eco-champions who embrace curiosity and innovation. Eden's Membership program is designed to encourage, empower and honor each student’s environmental work at individual and community levels. Members are guided through four membership levels with activities and challenges at each level. The activities are carefully designed to cultivate a student’s curiosity and challenge them to grow environmentally, mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Eden's membership program acts as an incubator for grassroots innovations by providing technical support and guidance to the students to further develop their environmental ideas and actions.
