Overdose Prevention and Naloxone Distribution

Since 2014, Sonoran Prevention Works' has been fighting for safety and survival of Arizonans who use drugs. In January 2017, SPW was awarded the single state contract to run the Overdose Education and Naloxone Distribution program. Since then, Sonoran Prevention Works has held thousands of trainings in every county and on most tribal lands; distributed nearly half a million doses of naloxone, and received reports of over 12,000 overdose rescues from our kits.

SPW's Harm Reduction Outreach Workers are certified peer support specialists who conduct outreach, HIV and hepatitis C testing, peer support, case management, and navigation to additional support services.
