Meals on Wheels of Southwest OH & Northern KY
Much More Than a Meal
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
One in five Americans is aged 60 or older, with an average life expectancy of a record high 79 years. Our country's senior population, currently at 58 million, is expected to double by 2020. For low-income seniors, the threat of hunger is real.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Meals On Wheels
Meals on Wheels of Southwest Ohio & Northern Kentucky delivers over half a million nutritious meals directly to the homes of low-income homebound seniors. We provide so much more than a meal, though -- our trained, professional Meal Delivery Associates also reduce loneliness and provide a safety and wellness check at each visit.
Pet Portions
We provide nutritious food for the pets that the seniors we serve love. All seniors who receive our Meals on Wheels are eligible to receive food and routine veterinary care for the pets who are so often like family, and their only constant source of companionship and love.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
We are passionate about ending senior hunger and isolation. Our goals are bold, creative, and include:
- Ensuring that no senior in need of home-delivered meals goes without.
- Combatting loneliness and isolation through our regular Meals on Wheels deliveries, but also in creative ways during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
- Engaging volunteers in all aspects of our operations.
- Leveraging our transportation and delivery infrastructure to bring other basic needs (groceries, personal care items, and other necessities) to the doorsteps of seniors with limited mobility and transportation options.
- Bringing a spirit of innovation to everything we do.
- Ensuring that seniors are an integral part of designing programs and services that will impact them.
- Giving voice and advocating for issues affecting older adults.
