Mission

Our goals include but are not limited to making sure that birds of prey get the medical and follow-up rehabilitative care and treatment they need with the intent to either release them back into the wild or find an educational facility where they can live out their lives as educational ambassadors. To provide the public with unique and high-quality environmental, educational experiences. Engage in scientific research on raptor rehabilitation, behavior, health, and ecology to better understand birds of prey. To provide information regarding raptor care and management for the public, rehabilitation centers, and academia.

Rehabilitation of Injured Raptors

Our main objective is to treat and release birds of prey that are injured as a result of illegal activities, collisions, encroachment or other events. We treat birds of prey that have been injured by collisions with cares, illegally shot, even illegally trapped.  The birds come from across West Virginia.

Every year we conduct more than 100 education seminars with our education birds.  These are birds that, because of their injuries can't be released into the wild.  We take these birds to schools, fairs and other community events across the state and talk about the important role raptors play in the environment and how people can help.
