IN 2019, THE ATRIUM MEDICAL CENTER FOUNDATION PROVIDED $395,641 IN OPERATIONAL SUPPORT TO ATRIUM MEDICAL CENTER. $100,000 OF THIS TOTAL WAS TOWARD THE NEW SENIOR ER WITHIN THE ATRIUM MEDICAL CENTER. THIS SPECILIZED UNIT ENHANCES GERIATRIC EMERGENCY SERVICES BY CREATING A NEW, SENIOR-FRIENDLY GERIATRIC EMERGENCY UNIT WITHIN THE EMERGENCY TRAUMA CENTER. THE ROOMS, EQUIPMENT AND AMENITIES ARE DESIGNED SPECIALLY FOR OLDER ADULTS, MAKING THEIR PATIENT CARE MORE COMFORTABLE AND QUIET. THE STAFF, ALL TRAINED IN GERIATRIC CARE, NOT ONLY WILL ADDRESS IMMEDIATE HEALTH ISSUES, BUT ALSO THE FULL SPECTRUM OF SENIOR'S HEALTH CARE NEEEDS IN THE HOSPITAL AND AT HOME.

PROGRAM FUNDING HELPED MAKE AVAILABLE CARING, APPROPRIATE, COST-EFFECTIVE AND ACCESSIBLE SERVICES TO FAMILIES IN CRISIS DUE TO AN UNANTICIPATED OUTCOME CONCERNING THEIR BABY/CHILD. WE PROVIDE FUNDING IN THIS PROGRAM BECAUSE WE RECOGNIZE THE LOSS OF PREGNANCY, DEATH OF AN INFANT/CHILD IS AN EMOTIONAL LIFE-ALTERING EXPERIENCE FOR FAMILIES WITHIN OUR COMMUNITIES.
