Philadelphia, PA   |  http://www.generationsonline.org

Mission

Aimed at the large population of older Americans who cannot afford or choose not to enroll in computer training or Internet training, Generations on Line provides specially programmed self-training software to senior centers, libraries, retirement homes and other locations where older people congregate as well as for individuals and their families at home. These are free to elders. There is no cost to the centers that serve them. We are entirely grant supported. Generations on Line software uses age-friendly plain language in large fonts to give step-by-step instructions on every screen to guide seniors through understanding and using all the basic internet tools for computers and mobile devices, teaching email, texting, searching, video chats, safety, and non-text applications, such as getting apps, taking photos, and watching YouTube. Tablet Training Tutorial is available to families for use with older friends and relatives through iTunes App Store and Google Play and Amazon. All free. A turnkey, staff friendly instituional program is also available at no cost to places where seniors live and congregate through a GoL Sip & Swipe Cafe® During the 2020-2021 Pandemic, GoL created an additional series of tools to help digitally compromised elders find and enroll in vaccinations centers, use telemedicine, and find oart-time jobs online. Serving more than 190,000 seniors across the United States and Canada, the app (Easy Tablet Help for Seniors) is also popular in most English speaking countries.
