Generations on Line
Generations on Line, the nonprofit Internet access and literacy program for older Americans, is now in more than 2000 senior care institutions in all 50 states. We surpassed 250,000 individuals in 2022. The program, launched nationally in September 2000 with the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, Norman Mineta, won the MindAlerts Award from the American Society on Aging and MetLife Foundation in 2002 for outstanding innovation in older adult learning. in 2006, the Founder was named a Purpose Prize Fellow. In 2015, she was named one fo the 50 Most Influential leaders in Aging in America and one of six over 60 leaders in Pennsylvania. The founder was selected by the Benton Foundation in 2022 as the National DIgital Equity Champion, in recognition of the work and reach. Generations on Line is free to seniors; and free to the centers who serve them. We are entirely grant supported.
Generations on Line "Sip&Swipe Cafe"®
A warm and wonderful way to entice even the ost reluctant technophobic older adults on to the Internet...tablet training and a cup of coffee, now appearing in senior centers nationwide and heading to other venues. In 2023, GoL deepened its reach into the most underserved populations, such as the housing insecure and low income LGBTQ elderly.
