What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Food Pantry
Our food pantry serves those who are hungry in Spring Hill, Thompson’s Station, College Grove, Santa Fe and Northern Columbia and is open three weekday mornings, one weekend morning and two evenings per week. Wonderful volunteers keep daily operations moving smoothly and food drives keep our pantry shelves well-stocked. Each household takes home approximately 70-90 pounds of food per visit of pantry staples along with produce, bread, and often frozen meat. Clients can visit the Well twice per month if needed and more often for bread. Families who qualify may also recieve USDA food once a month.
Mobile Food Pantry
The Well Outreach hosts several Mobile Food Pantries per year. These are half-day, large-scale food distribution events that are open to anyone, typically feeding over around 150 families around 12,000 pounds of food in a farmer’s market style environment. We rely on grants and donations to fund mobile food pantries.
JetPack Project
The JetPack Project is a backpack food program providing food to hungry children in our area each weekend during the school year. The program is a cooperative effort of The Well, the school, and the sponsoring organization that funds and packs the bags. The Well Outreach currently provides this program to 18 local schools.
Snack Stash Program
The Well’s Snack Stash program provides a bin full of snacks to schools to distribute to students whose families struggle to provide school snacks for them. Bins are refilled as needed. Currently, there are 18 schools participating in this program. We rely on grants and donations to maintain this program
