Making Tomorrow Better Today

aka Live Care Foundation   |   TEMECULA, CA   |  https://www.LiveCareGrants.org/

Mission

Live Care Foundation's mission is to reduce the costs and burdens of providing assisted living care services and end-of-life planning to seniors in need. We do this by fundraising and awarding grants to eligible care and service providers who have applied for and been approved for grant support. There are several grant programs available to care providers, but it should be noted that LCF does not make grants to individuals directly. Our research has shown that many current seniors and a large percentage of aging Baby Boomers are not sufficiently provided for, nor do they possess the resources to provide for their own care. Live Care Foundation's mission is to address this need.

What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

There is a rapidly rising need for assisted care support among our senior community. The Baby Boomer generation, the nation's biggest age and demographic, is not entering a life stage where both in-home and facility-based assisted care is required. Demand for care services is skyrocketing, giving rise to many new third-party care provider services and the development of new senior care facilities. Unfortunately, the costs of assisted care are also on the rise, and supporting families are rapidly coming to terms with the realities of insufficient financing to meet the demand. Destitute or impoverished seniors may find local or State-based aid. Seniors who have properly planned or have sufficient income, savings and assets, may be largely meet their own needs. If, however, a senior is one of the millions who fall in between these extremes then there is little public help available. That means the burden is falling to families to provide care for their loved ones.

Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Dedicated Assisted Living Grants

Live Care Foundation's Dedicated Grants (DGs) are awarded to eligible care providers and facilities who have applied for and been approved for grant awards. DGs are meant to be applied directly to patient/resident costs in order to alleviate family burden, and are not intended for general use or non-specific cost reductions.

Population(s) Served

Live Care Foundation's Untrestricted Grants (UGs) are awarded to eligible care providers and facilities who have applied for and been approved for grant awards. UGs are meant to be applied to general costs, program and overhead burden in order to stem the rising costs of general care provision across the served community.

Population(s) Served

Live Care Foundation's End-of-Life Grants are designed to ease the burden unexpected or unmanageable financial burdens owing to the passing of a loved one. Families and service providers may apply for grant assistance, but must first demonstrate financial eligibility and need.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our charity works to bridge the funding gap for supporting families. We provide several grant-based programs that provide for caregiver support. In many cases the families may also be eligible to use pretax dollars to pay for care services, effectively reducing the cost of supported services by up to 35% in many cases.

Donations are used to make grants to caregivers and care-giving organizations, who, in turn, provide subsidized care for your loved ones.

By working to help ease the burden of support, we hope to alleviate what will otherwise become an unending cycle of successive generations becoming responsible for caring for their elders. The Baby Boomer generation, by sheer size and need, has the power and potential to permanently shift the cost of senior care from its own provision to the generation following it.

That means successive generations will deplete their own resources necessary to provide for their own care which will extend the cycle in perpetuity.

We promote our organization and its services online and via attendance at trade organization events and memberships. Our team of 10 marketing professionals has proven experience in successfully identifying target markets and acquiring interested parties who either seek our assistance in obtaining and affording services, or who are looking for opportunities to support our cause.

By leveraging targeted social media, intelligently crafted paid search and SEO initiatives we are rapidly increasing our awareness footprint in the U.S., and have plans to drive even more interest in our services through direct outreach to the care-giving community.

We are members of the California Assisted Living Association, and currently work directly with many qualified and licensed facility operators and administrators to get word of our services out to the consuming public and their families.

We employ direct staff with experience calling on care-giving organizations, and who have proven success in navigating the "red tape" that can envelope well-meaning and hard-working staff.

Our seasoned team of digital and social marketing experts have years of experience in targeted search research techniques, custom content creation and online outreach channel development.

The firm's current infrastructure was built to scale up to thousands of monthly and ongoing donations per month as well as handle the review of grant application flow and funding distribution without the need for costly overhead expansion. To the extent that systems and outsource solutions are available to help automate processes and keep overhead controlled while allowing for near unlimited scaling, Live Care has invested in the organization that will keep us lean and mean going forward. We have a policy goal to deliver a minimum of 90 cents of every dollar received to direct beneficiaries, and today we routinely achieve a 92 cent benchmark, and have seen as high as 95 cents in several instances. We work hard to eliminate waste and time in order to swiftly move resources directly where they are needed for as far as we can stretch.

LCF has already been awarded a substantial grant by Google to help promote awareness, and identified hundreds of qualified grant recipient organizations and individuals. We have made important industry and donor contacts who will help facilitate rapid and scalable grant application reviews and awards.

We have also made inroads to product supply manufacturers whose products are largely consumed by our target beneficiaries. Support by some of these manufacturing concerns will further aid our ability to deliver cost reductions that enable greater affordability of assisted care services.

Our next level initiatives include fundraising recruitment, launching a coordinated campaign of establishing industry contacts, and promoting our nationwide availability of support services and grant-making.
