Mission

And Still We Rise Productions is a collaborative theater project dedicated to healing, public awareness, and social change through empowering the voices of formerly incarcerated people and their loved ones. With the establishment of a safe and creative training environment and the use of theater exercises and therapeutic techniques, we: 1. Help participants gain skills and self-confidence in shaping, asserting their personal stories. 2. Weave their story-telling into performances that move audiences to greater understanding and compassion for the struggles of these and other individuals who spend years incarcerated and then strive to integrate back into society. 3. Create a vital public forum where participants bring greater awareness and engagement with pressing criminal justice.

Theatre Residency

This is a full year residency for youth. We develop devised pieces drawn from the experience and imagination of the participants. The residency culminates in an open sharing of participants' performance work.
