Annual Student Shakespeare Festival

Since 2006, each April, the Society has produced the Student Shakespeare Festival in Balboa Park, near downtown San Diego, with 20-30 local schools participating, and in which elementary, middle, and high school students perform selections from the plays or sonnets, or offer other creative interpretations of Shakespeare's works. It is a free event open to the public. All schools pay a token entrance fee, but the expenses are otherwise covered by grants. Our most recent festival took place on April 20, 2019.
