What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Summer Intensives

Kids have fun developing skills in acting, stagecraft, vocal and dance technique, while making friends and working as a team. We typically offer three workshops. Each intensive workshop meets Monday through Friday for two or three weeks and culminates with a showcase for family and friends.

Population(s) Served

We are the only children's theatre organization in Albuquerque presenting performances to the public, which are professional-quality, literature-based, family-friendly and affordable. We use multi-generational casts and always provide shows to entertain all ages.

Population(s) Served

In 2016, we began working with local elementary schools to bring arts programming to all children who wanted to participate. Our two-week after school program culminated with a musical performance for family and friends.

Population(s) Served

We offer classes for ages 3 to 6 as an introduction to performing arts. Kids sing, dance and create characters and explore story theatre. Stage skills are taught along with listening skills, speaking skills, taking turns, sharing, coordination, memory and introductory reading skills, among others.

Population(s) Served

Ticket to Read is a Literacy Program providing FREE companion books to kids who attend shows at The Growing Stage. All our shows are based on literature and seeing a book come to life on stage is inspiring. Getting a free copy of that book, signed by the characters makes reading a joy and stimulates creative thinking!

Population(s) Served

We offer a variety of performing arts classes, including Saturday and weekday classes, master classes and workshops and spring and winter break workshops. Offerings include Musical Theatre, Broadway Dance, Solo SInging, Improvisation, Teen Character Exploration and Introductory classes.
