Home Delivered Meals
Home delivered meals are available for any homebound individual regardless of age or income. This service supports the choice of individuals to remain or recuperate in the comfort of their own home. Volunteer deliverers bring the meals between 11am and 1pm. Meals can be contracted on a short term or long term basis. Individuals recovering from illness or injury find the nutritional support provided by our meals an important part of their recuperative progress and assist in an optimum recovery. Our social services team works with clients to provide a personal assessment of their nutritional needs.
Congregate Dining
Congregate Meals are designed for senior citizens that enjoy social dining and can access transportation. Congregate dining features hot, well balanced mealsthat are conveniently located at churches, senior centers and senior housing facilities. Meals are served around noon, Monday through Friday. Dining guests have the opportunity to visit, read, play cards or take part in planned activities.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
At Meals on Wheels of Stark & Wayne Counties, our goal is to keep our clients living healthy and independent lives longer.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We work to provide our clients with live giving nutrition that nourishes the body and feeds the soul. To accomplish this, we have established an agency of dedicated volunteers and a committed staff, who together ensure that our clients are receive personal contact and nutritious meals daily.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Meals on Wheels of Stark & Wayne Counties is capable of preparing and distributing meals to clients ranging from our18 different site locations. We are able to meet the different dietary needs of our clients as well, and we can provide meals to new clients within two days notice.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Meals on Wheels was founded in 1973, and since then we have delivered 1,535,785 meals to our clients. As of 2014, we had more than 600 volunteers, covering 60 different delivery routes. In addition, Meals on Wheels has undergone a successful restructuring of its agency, and it has brought in a new management team and several other new positions as a commitment to serving its mission. Meal on Wheels is earning more funds, gaining more public recognition, improving itself from the inside out, and always making progress.
