Men's Services

Muncie Mission works to end homelessness, one person at a time, via a holistic approach — addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our guests. We serve men who have lost jobs, faced eviction, battled addictions, fought mental illness, and more. God cares about the whole person, and so do we. We offer: Emergency Shelter, Recovery and Transitional Living

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our desire is to see every man, woman and family we serve equipped to be productive citizens who enjoy lasting success in Christ. Our first goal is to meet the immediate, basic needs of our guests: food, shelter and clothing.
For those choosing a long-term recovery solution, a therapeutic, Christ-centered, twelve step recovery program is designed to equip guests to leave Muncie Mission as stable, self-sufficient and productive individuals; enjoying clean, successful living.

Guests seeking assistance on a short-term, emergency basis will find at Muncie Mission:
• hot meals
• safe sleeping dorm
• showers
• clothing and hygiene items
• laundry facilities
• chapel services
• care coordination
• client advocacy
Guests in our long-term recovery are prepared for clean, successful living through:
• life skills training
• life coaching
• work therapy
• social enterprise
• Bible study and discipleship
• referrals to collaborating agencies
• individual and group counseling
• church engagement
• mentorship
• aftercare

To continue effectively serving Muncie and East Central Indiana in breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty, Muncie Mission:
• collaborates with community agencies serving our guests and the populations we serve.
• continually evaluates to ensure we are meeting the demand for our services in the communities we serve to include upgrading and/or expanding facilities.
• invests in staff by providing training, education and compensation required to maintain the highest quality service delivery while meeting the many needs of our guests.

Since 1930 Muncie Mission has been diligently serving those in need in our communities. We are first and foremost a shelter providing a variety of programs and services for food, safe housing and the necessities of life to the homeless men and women and needy families of East Central Indiana.
With regards to addiction recovery, we remain focused on propelling addicted men into long term and permanent sobriety. Due to the complexity of addiction, Muncie Mission has designed its recovery programs to stretch beyond the traditional 30-day program, thus positioning participants for long term success. Furthermore, the Mission carries out all programming at no cost to the city, tax payers or participants, making lasting recovery available to a wider group.
Transitional living has become an important “next step” for interested graduates of the recovery program. The Mission has acquired sixteen properties to utilize for transitional living. Beauty for Ashes, an affiliated ministry, provides safe, sober, Christ-centered transitional housing for up to five women (including mothers with young children.)
