What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Peer counseling
Center for Women's Ministries' primary focus is on women age 13 and older, providing them a safe place for hope and healing. The major program is peer counseling through trained volunteers. In 2018, 28 local centers in five states and one foreign country gave over 500 clients nearly 5,000 hours of counseling service. Over 450 caring people provided 62,000 volunteer hours in support of Bible study, prayer, support groups and peer counseling. Peer counseling training and continuing education workshops are offered continually; there were close to 1200 training hours in 2018, with an aggregate attendance of 2848. Volunteer leadership retreats with educational and personal growth components are offered twice a year. Paraprofessional skill and personal growth retreats for all volunteers are offered every other year. Leadership Intensive Training, for women who will be the primary trainer of the Basic Peer Counseling Training curriculum in their home communities, is offered annually.
