Vincent House Shelter

Vincent House Shelter was the first and only transitional family shelter in Fort Wayne. The Transitional Shelter provides private family rooms for up to 10 units with shared commercial kitchen and bathroom facilities. The Vincent House Shelter serves as a launching pad for families to regain their footing after coming from area Emergency Shelters like Just Neighbors and YWCA. Stabilized shelter paired with intensive case management, youth services, and family engagement support creates an environment where families have the resources needed to re-establish family stability and begin to take steps toward re-establishing independence.

Population(s) Served

The Village Community Rental Homes serve families that are ready for the next step toward independence but still need additional support as they transition to independence. The Village Community Rental Homes offers a graduated, term of stay, income-based monthly rent options, starting at $250 and going up to $700 per month. Families can stay up to 5 years or graduate sooner based on meeting program goals. Families must meet established milestones for debt reduction, re-establishing credit, budget management, sustained employment, and savings. Families meet with a case manager twice monthly for both support with resources and accountability for meeting program goals.

Population(s) Served

Youth Services and Family Engagement includes on-site after-school programming, parenting engagement sessions, and daycare scholarships. Vincent Village offers a host of family support through Youth Services with tutoring, skill-building, resiliency formation, and creative outlets such as graphic and performing arts.
