ASHT Founders Award
Promotes meaningful research in hand therapy through the funding of one or more grants awarded annually. Eligibility for this award includes clinicians, graduate students, or tenured/nontenured faculty at accredited occupational/physical therapy programs are eligible for the award.
Burkhalter New Investigator Grant for Clinical Research in Hand and Upper Limb Rehabilitation
The purpose of the award is to support scientific clinical research in the field of hand and upper limb rehabilitation. Preference is given to applicants who are novice occupational or physical therapist investigators.
Authors are encouraged to submit research projects that address the AHTF research priorities published in the Journal of Hand therapy (Reference: MacDermid et al, (2002). A research agenda for hand therapy J. Hand Therapy, 15(1), 3-15).
Judy Bell-Krotoski Grab the Evidence Award
This grant supports the growing need to fund basic research science and evidence based studies in hand and upper limb rehabilitation.The purpose of the award as designed is to serve as a catalyst for a skilled researcher and/or research team to develop their role as principal investigators and to provide seed money for procurement of larger external funding. Hand fellowship students may apply when supported by a faculty member in an occupational or physical therapy program.
