Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

We work hard every day to help connect our local citizens with organizations and passions they care about. We inspire good and motivate people to act on those good feelings. We want to show people how to love where they live.

JNF works tirelessly to craft a granting process that is fair and empowering for our local nonprofits. We have also found it essential to be the megaphone for our local nonprofits and the causes they care so deeply about. People do not pay attention much past their own noses. We know it is our role to make those issues, challenges, and opportunities known to EVERYONE in our communities - including elected officials.

We have a Governing Board of engaged local volunteers who care deeply for Jasper and Newton Counties. We talk frequently and are not afraid to take a risk and try something new to be more effective in reaching our goals. We listen. We are an active partner - not an aloof organization that holds its funds hostage.

We have started an open dialogue with our grantees on our current granting process. The amazing thing is we have identified several places where are foundation lingo is confusing and misleading to our local nonprofit partners. We are working together to create a universal language around how we fund and what they need to do to ask for this funding. Seems really basic, right? Well, it is actually foundational to the trusting and solid relationships we want to have with our local nonprofits.
