What we aim to solve
Tindley Accelerated Schools is located in a low-income area of Indianapolis that has historically struggled with reliable high-quality educational choices. In 2004, Tindley opened to provide a resource and option for families. Since then we have had 100% of our scholars be accepted to four-year universities and have provided them with a rigorous academic setting to prepare them for college. Through this strategic plan we aim to continue to adapt and improve for our teachers and students, as well as discovering the best advances in curriculum development and execution.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Tindley drives to have long-term fiscal and operational health, while preserving our instructional model and commitment to students. Thus, in 2019 we consolidated from five schools to three, leaving us today with Charles A. Tindley Accelerated School, Tindley Summit Academy, and Tindley Genesis Academy.
This will optimized our enrollment and staffing, consolidated our footprint, and streamlined non-program operating costs. We also implemented several strategic priorities with our academic programs, ensuring supports and pathways for all invested students and families. These priorities would include creating consistency within the instructional model, evaluating and redesigning supports for students who need additional interventions,
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
* Identified a cross-network instructional leadership team and evaluate curriculum and delivery
* Conduct a needs assessment across the network
* Codify the academic vision for each grade level and subject, starting with secondary school and back-mapping to the elementary grades
* Develop a robust training plan for teachers and leaders
* Develop, revise or purchase curricular materials in alignment with the vision for that subject
* Research best practices from high-performing networks and schools similar to Tindley
* Develop and evaluate options to evolve current practices and policies
* Name a talent champion to evaluate current practices and the shared staff experience
* With input from staff, refine the Tindley talent philosophy and value proposition
* Develop a robust onboarding and training plan for teachers and campus/network leaders
* Further evaluate historical and current drivers of attrition
* Design and implement new practices to ensure attrition and retention data is well-tracked
