Women United in Philanthropy
The Women's Foundation of New Jersey is the non-profit fiduciary agent for Women United in Philanthropy, a women’s giving circle that pools donations to collectively make a large impact on the lives of women in Bergen County, New Jersey, by helping them become economically strong and independent.
Action Against Hunger
Action Against Hunger was launched in 1991 as a one-day food drive. At one point it was the largest food drive in the country serving more than 30 pantries and over 40,000 families. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we no longer run the food drive, but we do collect funds throughout the year and make donations to food pantries in Essex, Morris, Bergen, and Passaic counties. For every dollar donated, the pantries are able to purchase $11 worth of food because they can take advantage of wholesale pricing and buying in bulk.
Disaster Relief Fund
The Disaster Relief Fund provided resources to those impacted by the disaster of 9/11 and also helped our North Jersey neighbors during the COVID-19 pandemic.
General Fund
This initiative was established so that the Foundation can distribute money to the areas where there is the most need. Distributions could be to any of the other initiatives within the Foundation or other local organizations in the community.
