Hopeful Beginnings
Hopeful Beginnings is a 501c3 providing maternity counseling free of charge. We provide options counseling, perinatal mood disorder counseling for postpartum depression and anxiety as well as perinatal depression and anxiety, counseling for grief and loss of a child, and a teen parenting program in local school districts. Hopeful Beginnings also provides case management and access to baby essentials such as formula, diapers and clothing to families in need.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Hopeful Beginning's vision is that all children have a loving home. The agency supports families through the challenges of perinatal mood disorders, grief and loss of a pregnancy and/or difficulty transitioning to motherhood. Hopeful Beginnings also seeks to create stable families through open adoption.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Options counseling for women experiencing unplanned pregnancies.
Community outreach and education about perinatal mood disorders.
Teen parenting and pregnancy support and education.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Hopeful Beginnings seeks to provide quality services to individuals and families despite their ability to pay. The agency is dedicated to employing individuals with master's level education in their prospective fields and the majority of direct services are provided by LSW or LCSW professionals. Hopeful Beginnings also provides continuous professional development to all staff members.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Hopeful Beginnings has increased its internal capacity to serve clients by employing an additional 2 FTE direct service staff. It has also increased its ability to serve the Spanish speaking population by employing 4 fully bilingual Spanish/English professionals.
