What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Camp Winnebago
Camp Winnebago YMCA has developed a comprehensive day camp program that delivers age-appropriate fun and discovery for kids of all ages throughout the entire year. Our camp grows with your child offering campers a place where friendships are forged, memories are made, and the sense of security to take risks and express their true selves is found. We focus on individuality, creativity, socialization, and fun! Camp Winnebago Summer Camps are offered at four convenient locations.
Livestrong
LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a free program tailored to meet the specific needs of adult cancer survivors who would like to improve and reclaim their health before, during, and after treatment. Over the course of 12 weeks, participants meet twice a week in small groups to exercise, enhance functional ability, and improve energy levels. The classes are led by certified instructors who have completed specialized YMCA of the USA training in elements of cancer, rehabilitative exercise, and supportive cancer care.
Togetherhood
Togetherhood is the YMCA’s signature volunteer program for Social Responsibility. Together we can carry out the Y’s cause of strengthening community through volunteer service projects.
Kids' Time After-School Care
As the largest provider of before and after school programs in Winnebago County, your YMCA provides family-centered, values-based programs to nurture children's healthy development.
Silver Sneakers
SilverSneakers is designed for men and women who are eligible for Medicare or to group retirees, and promotes fitness and well-being while fostering friendships and camaraderie. SilverSneakers members receive a FREE YMCA membership, a benefit subsidized by Humana and their qualifying plans.

What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
The Y has made great strides in the past five years, including an expansion of services, increase in membership, providing more members with financial assistance while also reducing the cost of this program. We have also developed strong partnerships with other local leading nonprofits and agencies, and are taking part in the broader movement to revitalize the city of Rockford. The Y is currently working with our partners to identify the areas most in need, and decide how these agencies can work together the address the most pressing issues in our community.
