Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

We seek to be faithful to our confession of the Christian faith, and to carry out Christ's mission in the world through local congregations. In so doing, we desire to show ourselves worthy of donor's gifts and potential grant funds to further our mission.

As a district, there is an emphasis on New Starts...New Believers. Each congregation can do one new thing to reach people in their community with the good news of the Gospel. We want people to know about Jesus, live their lives as disciples and have the hope of eternal life.

There is an emphasis on Hispanic ministry called Enviando, working to engage Hispanics in theological evangelism training classes to equip those students to be everyday missionaries, as well as to help educate and prepare Hispanic adults who feel directed by the Holy Spirit to become professional church workers. Hispanic ministry is also reaching out to the people in their communities in cultural ways that appeal to those community members, providing for needs, sharing the love of Jesus in tangible ways.

The Northern Illinois District is responsible for ecclesiastical oversight through the district president as leader.

Staff is well-gifted to come alongside congregations for new starts. Congregations who are members of the Northern Illinois District provide financial support and volunteers.

The Enviando emphasis is a collaborative effort between Hispanic and Anglo church members seeking to establish a strategy for providing Hispanic evangelists, both professional and every day lay people, into the future.

Our district president is well-versed and has many contacts for helping with ecclesiastical oversight of the professional church workers and congregations within his authority.

There are more congregations doing one new thing, but not every congregation is doing one new thing. We continue to encourage and provide support to those congregations who desire to try one new thing for the good of God's Kingdom.
